»»APPEARANCE: [/b]
Trying to describe Kahndra Negahl by comparing her to creatures of ancient myth, one tends to gain massive migraines, for while the closest one has come to 'naming' her people is to compare them to Kitsune, the reality is much, much farther. For while the Kitsune is a fox spirit, Kahndra's is much closer to a Snow Leopard than Fox, markings and all.
In all reality however, the many millions of people on the internet have found a better way of describing the Karesh, and thus have found a name. An Anthropomorphic Snow Leopard, commonly found in some web comics around the internet.
Physically, it is almost like someone took the hips, legs and tail of a big cat, elongated them and stuck them to the torso of a human woman, and putting ears and fur on as an after thought. However, despite any thoughts of mad science or magic, the Karesh are all natural, despite being a relatively new race.
From her head to her four toes, Kahndra is covered in short, thick fur. Like most in her 'clan', she keeps the hair that grows from the and top of her skull like most humans, long. For the most part it is braided back, or put up in a fancy twist, giving her a 'head dress' appearance.
She wears very little in ornamentation, save for 'clothing' and a few other items. Those other items include a somewhat thick metallic plate on the tip of her tail.
This plate is highly ornamental, but serves a function as well. The underside is almost perfectly flat, allowing it to be used as a kind of table if her user wishes. The edges are sharpened to be at least capable of hacking something apart, but not capable of 'slicing'. That being said, there are six 'blades' that are attached to muscles in the tail that are honed to slicing capability. These blades are actually kept within the plate when not in use, partially to keep them hidden and honed, as well as to not injure anyone. The technical term for this plate is "Had'jik"

Kahndra's ears are pierced according to her clan's traditions. Six in all, three in each ear. Each ear has two piercings along the underside edge, with one near the tip of the ear. The piercings that adorn five of the six are thick rings of gold, partially to signify rank and for decoration. The choice of piercing is up to the wearer for the most part, save for one.
The one piercing that was not chosen by Kahndra is a dangling earing on the tip of her left ear. This earing is made up of a single two link chain at the end of which is a single feather and Kahndra's baby fang. It signifies her clan as well as being a good luck charm to Kahndra.
There are a few other thing that separates her people from others that might look like them; one of those being a 5 inch spike of bone within the tip of the tail itself. This spike is like their claws, retractable to the point of being completely hidden within the fur tip. With the addition of the Had'jik to the tip, added by various 'rites' along the lifespan of the Karesh people, the spike is 'sheathed' in metal, giving it an edge akin to a spear tip.
In addition to the sheathed tail blade, their claws are also sheathed in this metal, giving them an unnaturally sharp bite.
Clothing[/color]
As for clothing choices, Kahndra prefers to wear loose flowing robe like cloth over her fur, both to hide what she is while outside, and for style. For the most part, her 'cold weather' wear consists of a knee length dress, with allowances in the back for her tail to poke through, an ankle length parka cloak with fur lined hood. (Her own fur though was used to make the hood lining.)
Her warm weather wear consists of an Egyptian style skirt to cover her hips, as well as a simple top. While her fur covers most if not all of her sensitive bits, this serves as modesty appeasement for those who are more... intense in their beliefs of modesty.
»»PERSONALITY: [/b]
The average Karesh personality can be attributed to several things. The main is that their society is that of a hierarchal leadership. A group of Karesh serve as their form of a council, governing trade disputes to naming ceremonies and everything in between. As such, the average Karesh has a Pack Mentality complex. This means that they are submissive genetically to people of a higher standing. Of course, this does not follow the general 'rank and file' system of the military, but personal standing.
A 'brown noser' may indeed be lower despite their higher rank officially, so they have to act like they are of a higher rank than everyone else to be considered higher. However, compassion and deed also have a great deal to do with it as well, thus no matter who 'acts' the best, they actually have to BE the best.
As such, the average Karesh mentality is to practically adore those of a higher rank than they are, almost like hero worship. However, these instances for Kahndra are few and far between, and while this may be uncommon knowledge, few have ever truly been able to trigger this state in her.
Aside from the pack mentality, her personality is most akin to that of a common house cat. Lazy when not working, curious beyond any normal human, utterly voracious when hungry, capable of downing at least three times that of a normal human before going into the same 'food coma'. Like most cats Kahndra can walk on all fours, and in the majority of instances when she is in a hurry she does. Her bigger size and longer limbs means she is faster than her natural cousins, but she is also less capable of maintaining these speeds as long.
Her favorite food is fish, though she defiantly prefers the Alaskan Pollock to anything else. If anyone gives her tuna, she may nibble a bit here and there, but for the most part she gives it to her smaller cousins that the goblins and various people in the Troll Market keep to keep the rats and other pests down to a minimum.
Like most cats, Kahndra despizes water, though for her it is for a much deeper reason than "It feels yickey." To her and her kind, being wet equates to being frozen, being dead. Thus, she tries to stay as dry as possible, even in the Markets. Granted, this often means skirting many puddles and climbing on the walls to get to where she needed to go. At first it was just one of those 'new arivals' and their unusual habbits, but once she explained why to a few curious people, they stopped asking. She'd assumed it was because of the whole "Scuttlebutt" that generally thrives like wildfire in places like that.
As such, she cannot swim, is just now getting used to walking in water, and in general still despizes getting wet or splashed. A few of the 'naughtier' critters that litter the Markets actually tried getting her wet a few times at first. That was at least until she nearly disembowled one of the people (Their words against hers to the local authorities). The result was mearly a slap on the wrist for Kahndra, but a much stiffer penalty for 'tormenting' a fellow critter. Kahndra suspected it had soemthing to do with the male's appreciation that she was a wet female.

»»IDOLS:[/b] For the most part, she looks up to the two she really perceives as her 'superiors' other than those in her own family. Those two are Prince Nuada, for the strength of his own convictions, despite the lengths he is willing to go to to complete his goals. The other is the one the humans have dubbed "Hellboy." This is because of the single fact that despite everything he was destined to do, he was turned to be a force of protection by the humans, by the strength of their souls.
»»HISTORY: [/b]
Only in the last hundred years or so have they come out of hiding so to speak, and Kahndra is only the newest member to venture forth to 'earn her name' as she puts it. Her culture is one that is achievement based on Merit, rather than the amount of funds or pure rank.
Thus, items that inflict pain, either over time or all at once are among the few ways to prove personal merit via "Control of Self". What this means, is that for every item that you wear that would cause pain to you to gain it, either by surgery or branding, serves to increase your standing in the clans, and thus elevate your clan's standing among the village.
Over Kahndra's lifetime, she has gained a decent deal of standing among her clan, from the implantation of the blades on her Had'jik, to the piercings in her ears as well as the sheathing of her claws. Outwardly, she has no real markings upon her skin that are artificial, save for the metals adorning her.
From birth to two years ago, Kahndra worked with her father, selling wares, traveling and learning the trade of "Merchant ism" as he had called it. Over the earliest years of her life she went into the troll city in which their village was situated over one of it's entrances as a kind of "Way station".
They appreciated having someone guarding their entrances on a permanent basis and offered 'gifts." Thus, almost all of the metal that the Karesh use are forged by Goblins, and are remarkably light, yet incredibly strong for it's weight. That said, it is more than capable of marking on tempered steel if struck hard enough without being damaged itself.
Over the course of her life, she has observed, listened and gained some 'tricks' of the trade, so to speak, and knows how to speak to most people in somewhat fluent, but broken language. For the past few months, however, she has left her home in search of her 'name'. Most Karesh, when they reach a certain age, must leave the nest to practice a trade, find work, prove their worth to their clan.
It was in search of this name that she found her way to one of the restaurants in the Troll Market, where at the moment she is working as a waitress.

Taken from a Harry Potter RP.
Well THAT was rude. I wonder who she is... I've seen her around Hogwarts a few times.
Meg stepped back as the girl pushed her way through the group of four, stepping on her sister's toes as she did so. When the girl had passed, Meg heard her comment and she simply smirked quietly before looking down at her sister's shoes, and seeing a rather large and maring scuff mark upon the shoes of her sister.
"Hold on dear, I have something that'll get that right out."
With a wink to her sister, she unzipped her jacket, reached in elbow deep to her own 'expanded' pockets and with somewhat echoing sounds of rummaging, and muttered words of 'Thats not it', or 'No, no, thats not it either', she pulled her arm out once, withdrawing a vial of green liquid with a rubber stopper.
Meg turned the vial this way and that, as if trying to see just which vial she had extracted, a frown appearing upon her face as if she couldn't for the life of her figure out which one she had picked. With a slight shrug, she tossed it over her shoulder dismissively, intentionally aiming for the girl who had been so rude to her.
With a slight smile of satisfaction, she heard the vial shatter open upon the ground, it's contents coming into contact with the air, and foaming at an extremely rapid rate. It was designed to expand in an almost explosive manner, but not flammable in the least, since its design was water based. It was almost akin to the muggle form of sealant foam that they used in plumbing, but at a much more rapid rate of expansion and decomposition since it did evaporate after a few minutes, or seconds depending on the circumstances and formula.
After hearing the shattering of the vial and the sputtering hiss of the ooze that would collapse into a slime like liquid, Meg simply reached into her pocket again, this time withdrawing a small jet black orb with a cylinder stuck on one side with a string sticking out of the cylinder like one of those classic old time cartoon bombs. She also withdrew another sparkle-snap, a sneakoscope, a few whizbangs and an all in one pocket knife.
With her expression turning from slight amazement to puzzlement, she finally held up a finger and spoke. "Right. Wrong pocket." And with that, she dug into her other jacket pocket, finally bringing out a spray can that she applied to Faye's shoe after kneeling on the wet cobblestone.
