Aislin wasn’t quite sure where she had managed to find herself, if she were perfectly honest. To her it had looked like heaven on earth with books lining the wall, while some were stacked almost as high as her. She gently placed her book on Arthurian legends down on the floor out of what she could see as the only walking path; she picked her way over to the nearest book case. It only took her a few moments of skimming through the large books to realize that half the books weren’t marked and only a third of the ones that were, she couldn’t understand.
Briefly she wondered if it was a good idea to remove any of the books, but she had been told to make herself comfortable with her new surroundings. There was nothing that made her more comfortable than something interesting to read. Making up her mind, she grabbed one of the unmarked books and found an empty patch of floor to plant herself on. Slowly, she opened the book which was far bigger than she had realized; it took up the entirety of her lap just to support the weight. Several pages in the text began or at least that’s what Aislin assumed.
The writing was not in English, or in any language the blonde could easily identify. The script itself seemed very curly and elongated to her, though she supposed that was a matter of perception. The more pages she flipped the more she became fascinated by the language; while she didn’t understand a word of what was written, she knew at some point being able to recognize it later would be a good thing.
So involved in what she was looking at Aislin missed the sound of footsteps walking into the room. Then again she probably could have missed the sound of a war being waged around her with the amount of attention she was placing on her surroundings.

The young BRPD agent, Ms. Knyght, was wandering the large HQ when she heard the footsteps of a woman in the library. How did she know they were woman footsteps, some might ask? They were footsteps too light and graceful to be a grown man's. Not that they couldn't be graceful, but that they tend not to be especially when walking.
As she rounded the corner and entered the library, she smiled seeing her suspicions were right. She loved being right. This though was a thought she kept to herself as she watched the other female looking about the library. She had been here the other night, looking to translate some text from The Royal Library of Alexandria. It was collected from its' daughter library in a temple called Serapeum.
After the young watched the Elf maiden for a few moments she decided to speak and after clearing her throat once she did so. "Hi, I'm Agent Knyght. Is there anything I can help you with?" The title Agent was something she cherished and therefore she interjected it whenever she could, as if to say "Look at me Momma I won". It was gloating or arrogance just she was proud of her accomplishment and using the title gave her a sense of accomplishment

Aislin jumped slightly at the voice that sounded through the quiet room. She glanced up from the book to see who had found her snooping; the woman in front of her was, well, very pretty. She smiled up sheepishly at having been caught.
"Junior Agent Willams. It's a pleasure Ms. Knyght," she didn't care for saying her title, but so far everyone had introduced themselves with it, and she figured that was just how things were. She glanced down at the book resting on her lap; perhaps, Ms. Knyght would know the language of the book.
"Do you know what this language is?" Maybe if the other woman could tell her what it was, she would be able to translate it later. It would be something fun for her to do during her down time; though, she was pretty sure that it had been translated already. After all, why would someone or some... organization like the BPRD leave any of their books untranslated?
She shook her head as her thoughts began to get away from her; there she went again, trying to start a new research project without even knowing if she could.
"Whatever it is, the script is quite beautiful," she gently traced a bit of the script with her finger tip.

Two voices, unfamiliar to him, echoed through the library chamber. It wasn't that they were being loud by any means, it was that he was in the tank, and sound tended to echo and reverberate through the glass. Swimming sideways, he noticed two of the BPRD's junior agents, and shadowed them. One had been simply observing, and the other seemed to desire to offer help, in one form or another. Swimming higher in the water to get a better view of the two girls, he came back down, literally. With his feet pointing at the ceiling, he appraised the junior agents with a sudden curiosity.
Upon closer observation, he came to find that one of the girls was extremely interested in her surroundings, and made a mental note that it was very possible that they shared the personality trait of an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Though his logic suggested taht both girls were intellects, or very very bored. The library was not exactly a popular hangout among the agents at the BPRD. In fact, it was usually the quietest location within the establishment, and it doubled as Abe's home. Much like the late Professor Broom, Abe had many interests, and not enough time to indulge in his studies.
However, it wasn't everyday that someone wandered into his 'room' one might say. Outside of the tank were a series of podiums set out in front of the tank, each holding a book of a different subject, Abe couldn't help but to seize the opportunity. This rare chance he'd been given. "Excuse me." He called nonchalantly through the glass. "I'm sorry. I do hope I'm not disturbing you." He stated in his usual empathetic voice. "But since you are here, would one of you be so kind to turn the pages please?" With an open hand, he indicated the books outside of the tank on the podiums. Most of the agents all ready knew they were kept there, and he was always in need of page turners.

The girl in front of Victoria was stunningly beautiful, as if she had just stepped out of a magazine. Her cheekbones were to die for and her silky blond hair was perfectly straight. "She has an old beauty. A beauty that one would see in a Greek statue or in a painting from older eras," she thought to herself thankful that neither were telepaths. "But she doesn't look old." For some reason Victoria seemed to forget the most obvious answer.
Pushing these thoughts from her head, she would smile as she introduced herself as Junior Agent Williams. So they did have something in common. As she asked her what language it might be she looked down at the book and shook her head drawing a blank. "I have no idea. It truly is beautiful though, isn't it?" The flowing script had her mesmerized and as she let her fingers softly, with a feather-like touch, a thought hit her.
"Can I see the binding of the book?" Her eyes were bright sparkling and ready to execute her plan.
Just as she spoke though a voice appeared from behind her and as she turned she smiled, knowing the man. She had seen him once or twice in passing but she always knew he was intelligent. There was a glint in his eyes that said so. "Hi. I'm Junior Agent Knyght." When he asked one of them to turn the page of his book she nodded, pointing to the book and flicking her wrist to the left. Consequently the page would turn and she would smile, loving the amazed feeling she still got after so many years of training.

Aislin sighed mentally at Ms. Knyght's answer; she had hoped that she'd have something she could do when not working, but then again, maybe it was a book they had only just acquired. Who knew? She blinked at the girl's response, but consented and stood to hand her the book.
She turned when another voice sounded in the room. It confused her mostly due to thinking that she had been alone in the room. Her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the ... blue ... person in what she thought had been an unused fish tank. She had been warned that there were 'odd-looking' people in the bureau, but it still caught her off guard.
She smiled as the other woman introduced herself, and opened her mouth to state her own name when Agent Knyght turned the page with a flick of her wrist. She supposed she would have to get use to things of that nature now that she worked there.
"Junior Agent Williams," she said smiling gently at the man. He seemed intelligent enough, but she couldn't tell what he was reading either. Turning, she held out the book for the woman; she wasn't sure why she wanted to see the binding, but it wasn't going to do her any good by saying no.

The surprise of the two junior agents failed to escape Abe's notice, as he held a hand to his heart in a gesture to express himself. He had learned to adapt to different forms of expressions, since he could neither smile nor cry. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" Exclaimed Abe sympathetically. "I did not mean to cause you any fright. I require water, you see." He explained calmly. "I'm Abraham Sapien, but you can call me Abe." He introduced nonchalantly. He observed the two girls, Rubik's cube in hand, trying to get a peek at the mystery alphabet. "If I'm not mistaken, that could be ancient Sirenian. Or possibly ancient Greek, I'm afraid I've always had trouble telling them apart." Abe suggested, curiously. Sirenian was a language not widely spread in either world, as it was only used by the remaining sirens, where as Ancient Greek had rather unreliable translators.
Twisting a row to line up yellow on this cube, he idly waved a hand as he continued his unintended monologue. "I've always had an acquired taste in ... Well... Just about anything you can find in a book, really..." He stated mildly, "But until recently I've been at a loss of page turners, which does slow down the learning process. It's refreshing to see other people here, I must admit." Swimming into a more comfortable position, Abe tread the water trying not to move too much. Fearful that he'd afflict the two other agents in the room with something to the means of motion sickness.
"So.. Enough about me!" Abe exclaimed pleasantly. "What brings you two here?" He was curious,it had been the truth that the exquisite library was generally the most secluded room in the B.P.R.D.. In fact, it was so secluded that he was able to live in the library with close to no intrusion. Not that he minded the intrusion, Abe was social to all of the agents in the B.P.R.D. and cared about them each genuinely.

Aislin shook her head in a negative fashion; it would do no good for Mr. Sapien... Abraham, Abe to think she was afraid. They would be working together, and she didn't want that to be his first impression.
"Not frightened. Perhaps, startled," she said brushing her hair out of her face and back behind her pointed ear. She hadn't been raised around the unusual, and she really wasn't sure how to explain that without sounding childish. She looked down at the book she had offered to the other girl.
"Sirenian? or Ancient Greek... hmm. That could be fun to translate in my spare time," she mused aloud. She raised her eyes back to Abe. For some reason unknown to herself she found him working on a Rubik's cube amusing. Her smile widened at his enthusiastic speech pattern; it made her feel welcome, which in a matter of speaking was odd for her.
"I was looking for a place to read. I could have read in my room, but it was... uninviting," she wasn't sure if it was just a matter of being in a new environment or her love of nature.
"I found this place and thought I was in heaven. If you don't mind the company, you can consider yourself having a frequent page turner."
She gave him a cheeky grin... yeah, she could get use to the place.

Once she had the book, she looked at the bindings and using her abilities once again she'd stretch a thin layer of TK energy over the binding over the book. Then with the imprint she'd compare it to the other bindings. She found several books, all of which had at least one or more letter in common with the imprint.
They'd all float down to the table and stack themselves one on top of the other. She would smile softly still feeling the rush of her powers. Being half-demon made her eyes glow faintly when she used her powers, a passive ability which often limited her use of the power. Of course out int he real world she'd be able to use her abilities without being noticed but she hadn't been out of these walls for as long as she could remember.
Sighing she'd smile at the girl and explain what she did. "I got every book written in the same language. I hope that helped," she says softly.

When Aislin confirmed that she had not been frightened, Abe was flooded by relief. He knew that some of the agents within the B.P.R.D. had never seen a blue fishman before, and might find his very appearance terrifying. “Oh that's excellent!” He stated smile in his voice, hand flailing slightly in excitement. “If you've come looking for a place to read, look no further. This room houses most of the B.P.R.D.s reading collection.” Pausing he cast a glance over the books in the library, and his recently turned pages before continuing. “I've not had a reliable page turner for ages, and if you enjoy reading it might even be more enjoyable for you than some of the others.” It was the truth as well. Unless one enjoyed learning, turning the pages of Abraham's historican endeavors and scientific know-hows would prove to be boring.
In that moment, he heard something moving, and glanced out of the tank in mild concern. The other agent had decided to use her powers inside the bureau, which of course would go without saying: wasn't very smiled upon, especially by their superior Manning. “Oh do be careful, some of those bindings are worn very thin.” He stated, hoping the girl knew what she was doing. Observing the pile he shook his head from side to side slowly. “That was a neat trick, you have there. However, you did miss the English to Sirenians which should be cataloged in section 2-B. That is quite a lot of reading material.” Turning to face the agent with the ability, Abe inquired: “Do you enjoy reading as well, Miss Knyght?”

"Consider yourself, now having one. I have no doubt that I will be spending most my free time here!" she said laughing lightly. She had never imagined finding such a diverse collection of books, and she would not let the opportunity pass her to study as much as she could. No doubt, that the library housed information she would have never found on her own.
Aislin smiled in delight at Ms. Knyght's display of power; it was really an amazing thing to see. She supposed one day it would not seem so... surprising to see, but for the moment, it was a wonder. When the books had finished stacking themselves she couldn't help, but feel giddy. She would have plenty to work with, that was for sure.
"Thank you so much," she said to the other woman.
