Hellboy

Anung Un Rama, also known as Hellboy, is a humanoid demon who works as a Paranormal Investigator for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). He was adopted when he was sent to Earth by Trevor Bruttenholm, who was his adopted father and mentor. He is currently expecting children of his own with Elizabeth Sherman. Hellboy first appeared on Earth on December 23, 1944 on a island off of the Scottish Coast. He was summoned by Grigori Rasputin, who was working with the Nazi's, and was accompanied by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm of the BPRD. The professor befriended the creature and affectionately named him Hellboy. Anung Un Rama was raised in secret by the U.S. goernment and trained to be a paranormal investigator. He is the unwilling Harbringer of the Apocalypse. He has immunity to fire, and great strength and perseverance. He keeps his horns to stumps to make him appear more human and to help him fit in. He has a Bronx accent and is hot-tempered, with dry wit and a rebel sarcastic personality.

Abe Sapien

Abraham "Abe" Sapien was originally named Langdon Everett Caul and he too is a paranormal investigator for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). He was born in the middle of the Victorian Era in Europe. While involved with the Oannes Society, he and a few others retrieved an unusual jelly-fish like deity from an underwater ruin. He and the others had unleashed this entity and fused it to Langdon's body, turning him into what he is now. Abraham Sapien was found by New York workmen sealed inside a fluid filled glass tube and was saved from being viviscected by Hellboy, his companion. He is a humanoid amphibious creature, better known as a Ichthyo Sapien. He is both intelligent and resourceful, and easily ranks as an Olympic-Level Swimmer, if not actually surpassing the measure, since he obtains a highly athletic physique. Abe has to "get wet" to keep him from becoming too weak. He also relies on a breathing aparatus. He has a telepathic ability that incorporates mind-reading, empathy, and clairsentience. Since he shareshis ability with Nuala, they are brought together quickly.

Liz Sherman

Liz also known as Elizabeth Sherman is a pyrokinetic human, and part-time Agent for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on April 15, 1962. She has a traumatic past, and her parents died when she accidently set fire to the neighborhood as a child. Once the incident had past Sherman became a common street theif for approximately ten years of her life. Frustrated, Liz came to discover BPRD and it became the closest thing she ever had to a home or family, she has a history of leaving the Bureau, though she always returns. She had a normal childhood until her abilities manifest themselves when she was ten. Her last uncontrolled manifestation took place in 1984, and she was taken in by BPRD in 1974. She is often teamed with Hellboy and Agent Sapien. She is currently bearing the children of the Harbringer of the Apocalypse, Agent Hellboy.

Johann Krauss

Johann Kraus was born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1946. At ten years old he began to see people others could not, later realizing they were ghosts. Johann grew frustrated that he could not communicate with ghosts, and in result studied spiritualism under an elderly German woman called Anneliese Stiener. Sadly, that group also focused on occult studies, which Johann disagreed with, and he cut himself off from the group and his mentor. On his own he learned to communicate with the dead and later learned to send his spirit into the etheric plane. In 2002, a spirit of a Chinese boy reached through the etheric plane asking Johann for help from the Chengdu disaster. The shock wave conducted through the boy, then through Johann killing all of the family of the late Heinrich Wagner and Johann's body. His ectoplasmic form survived when his body was incinerated, and he sought the BPRD for help since without his physical body he would soon dissipate. He has the ability to speak with spirits and astral project. He is reduced to a soul within a containment suit. He has a deceased wife.

Thomas Manning

Acting as a team coordinator and a director, Thomas Manning is a very serious and straight forward person. Manning is well respected and trusted by those working under him, though he often caught between the needs of his subordinates and demands from his superiors. Manning follows the book in most situations and proves to be a very competent and reliable leader. Manning promoted Roger into the leader of his own squad as an atonement for a bomb fiasco, which was not done at his behest, but at the command of his superiors. Manning has begun to develop a deeper sympathy with those under his watch. He is instrumental in debunking conspiracy theories surrounding the involvement of the FBI and his agency.

BETHMOORA CLAN

Nuada Silverlance

Prince Nuada Silverlance was trained as a warrior and a dignitary from birth. This was no more than custom for the old world royalty. He was a prince, and lived in a palace. He even served in the war against humanity both in battles and in the briefing room, creating strategy and battle plans. After a great disagreement with his father, King Balor, that the prince left the court of Bethmoora and wandered the earth as a nomad with a troll companion known as Mr. Wink. While his fathers court relocated, the prince moved about living in various places and observing humanity. Nuada even learned to speak fluent English. He found permanent living quarters in the Troll Market after many years, and kept remnants of his life as a groomed royal to manage the life he currently has as a rogue. He seems unused to the idea of forest-life, which is most of what he longs for. Prince Nuada loathes and despises humans, and he believes the time to return from his exile to his people is now. He wishes to reclaim their birthright. Nuada shares a close bond and an adoration for his twin sister Nuala, their bond is to their life. Should one suffer, the other will share the same pain. Should one die, so will the other. Prince Nuada seems to have an incestial relationship with his sister, as he's seemingly blocked out all other forms of intimacy.

Princess Nuala

There is much hatred that Nuada carries that Nuala seems not to see. Her beliefs differ from her brother, and she seems to be on a path to enlightenment and longevity. She embraces peace, tranquility, and harming nothing in order to reduce harm to others and herself. She has a telepathic ability that incorporates mind-reading, empathy, and clairsentience. Since she shareshis ability with Abraham Sapien, they are brought together quickly. Nuala also bears the royal scars, and it remains clear that she is just as strong as her twin Nuada. Nuala was present at the creation of the Golden Army but seemed neutral about the decision. She is both silent and inactive compared to her father and brother, and was raised in a society where the women do not have the same voice as males. Her brother has a great deal of respect for her.

King Balor

The legendary one-armed king of Elfland, and ruler of all races, is King Balor It was at his command that the Golden Army was initially formed, as well as the crown to accompany it. He could not stand by his decision in merciless and needless bloodshed and is responsible for forming a truce with humans, to which Balor lost the war to man, and lost his son Nuada to exile. Balor was the oldest living elf on earth, having survived the 21st Century. He is the father of two, Nuada and Nuala. The exact length of Balor's reign is unknown. Balor's children were blessed with a supernatural link and equally impressive abilities.

Icarus Wright

Icarus would be considered a traitor by the royal family, if they knew about her services to the enemy lines. She betrays information, which she is good about getting, to AB Syndicate, who she believes is on the right path. While Nuada is in a similar movement against the humans, she feels that AB Syndicate has a better chance, and she gives herself to the highest bidder. She lives among elves, and is approximately 321 years old. Working as a merchant, she blends in with the surroundings in the troll market.

Asmodeus White

Asmodeus White is the leader of a demon legion known as "The Sons of Darkness". These sons are more powerful than the usual demons who crossed through the rift. Being born on Earth allows them to use their abilities without any restrictions. Unfortunately for Asmodeus, there are only a handful of pure demons on Earth, and he is one of them. He leads AB Syndicate aided by his cunning, manipulative, and persuasive nature. He believes that the reign of man has come to its bitter end, and he is willing to use all of his powers against mankind. His powers include: Telepathy, ability to manipulate anothers genetic make-up, and the ability to stop time. He currently lives among humans working alongside Belial and his wife Lamia to accomplish the same goal. Meanwhile, behind Belial's back, he is participating in a love affair with Lamia.

Belial Shaw

Belial is the co-leader of the Sons of Darkness. He is a Fallen Angel who has joined the legions of demons. He claims the titles the ”Lord of Hostility”. He aspires to bring about chaos to those he deems are wicked, insolent, and arrogant: Feeling most satisfied when others feel guilty. He is working with Asmodeus and his wife Lamia, to bring about destruction of the human world, where several demons and fallen angels are taking refuge. He has the gift of flight, supernatural defense, and superhuman strength.

Lamia Shaw

Lamia once rumored to be a child eating monster, laughs in the face of human mythology. She is a Demon Temptress who takes pride in seducing the younger, more naive men, to later feed on their blood. Similar to a vampire, Lamia too lives among humans, hanging on the arm of her 'beloved' Belial. She is currently having an affair with Asmodeus. She can wield fire, and is immune to the elements. She also has superhuman speed and dexterity.

Erik Legion

Erik is one of the more powerful partners of AB Syndicate. He is a Son of Darkness, and has abilities that make him quite notorious. He is able to summon demons from the otherworld to replace his personality, changing him entirely on a whim to suit his needs. His powers are limited to lesser demons, as he cannot summon anyone more powerful than himself. When they are summoned, he is not present and will not have any interaction with them, or memory of what they said. It's a dangerous game, as his own psyche could betray him.

Gabriel Blanche

Gabriel is the young-faced leader of the Opus Dei, and truly believes in the cause in which he leads. He has a vast love for humanity and his job as an elementary teacher suits him well. Despite his position of leadership, Gabriel is cheerful, humorous, and seems rather lackadasical about things; which often gives his second-in-command, Raphael, great frustration. However, Gabriel is incredibly intelligent focused, and his easy-going mannerisms belie a truly great leader. While currently trapped in a human body, he can only call upon his angelic healing abilities. He is a thinker/planner, not a fighter. He remains abstinent from romance.

Raphael Norman

Raphael is the second-in-command of Opus Dei. He is devoted to the liberation, and has the ability to heal others emotionally, instead of physically. His ability is one of a kind, and he takes on the pain of he whom he is healing. He is abstinent from romance, and focuses on the task at hand. Unlike the others in his ranks, he does not particularly like humans. His hands heal them because he follows orders, though the truth is humans greatly annoy him.

Aura Michaels

Aura Michaels is approximately 500 years old, with the gift of granting others peace, so they can cross to the other side. Her job on earth is to ease people into their deaths. While she does not take life from them, she acts as its messenger, and tries to make death easier on those she meets. Her ability is one of a kind, and is not used lightly. She is very loyal to Gabriel and Opus Dei. She is an activist in the fight for liberation.

Charles Raziel

Charles is the embodiment of the angel of secrets. His job on earth is to intercept information, and he is an excellent informant. He has the ability to create a protective light shield, that spares those nearby from taking any harm from demons. It does not protect them from human weapons, but with quickened healing, most angels are less effected by guns and firearms than they are darkness that a demon may use. He also is responsible for listening to others secrets and problems, and keeping them to himself while offering a healing hand.

Amadeus Darcy

Amadeus is almost 600 years old now, and his human father has long since passed away. He lives in the Troll Market, but often ventures to the human cities to socialize. He loves clubbing, and adores the human culture, even if it is something the elves stand against. He is against the Prince's movement, and has all ready offered to fight with humans should the need arise. He is not a trained warrior, and his only ability is immunity to earth, which isn't much. He is a journalist by trade, and close friends with Kaori Serith.

Kaori Serith

Kaori is a half elf that was raised in the troll market. She is nearly 30 years old, and both of her parents are still alive. Her mother is human, and her father is an elf. She is a botanist, and has a green thumb coupled for a love for things that grow. She enjoys modern music, and is close friends with Amadeus Darcy, though she hates his love for clubbing. She thinks it shows less class than character, and often tries to sway him out of going.

Tyler Smith

Tyler was adopted and has no idea that he isn't a human. In fact, he thinks mythical creatures are totally unrealistic, and a waste of time to study or take an interest in. He graduated from Cambridge, and is working his way up the career chain earning his name as a lawyer. He is a criminal rights activist, and fights the death penalty where it still exists. He loves women, but isn't particularly good with them. He is known to step outside for a smoke when he is stressed or nervous.

Natalie Sway

Disinterested in men, Natalie prefers the company of women romantically. She is both persuasive and suggestive, and is a choir teacher for a local elementary school, where she works alongside Opus Dei's Gabriel. They are constantly at odds, and see opposite sides of the spectrum. Natalie believes humans should be destroyed and that they tainted her blood with their worthlessness, where Gabriel truly loves the parasites. She is arrogant and conceited, and is always looking for trouble.

MYTHICAL REALM

Mr. Wink

Mr. Wink is a cave troll who also is a friend and henchman of Prince Nuada.Mr. Wink is easily identified by his primary weapon which is a mechanical fist capable of being launched from his right arm tethered by a long chain, used for attacking foes at a distance. The artificial hand was crafted by none other than Prince Nuada, and it is reeled back into it's mounting, often by crawling back to its owner. He also wears a metal armour plate that is exceedingly tough. Mr. Wink possesses substantial physical strength, capable of throwing human-sized opponents several dozen feet. He speaks the language of the Trolls, and is fortunate that Prince Nuada understands him, though he does understand English.

Mr. Merriweather

Mr. Merriweather is a polite sasquatch, unlike his brothers. He demands his company to say his name in a British accent, or the use of his name is rendered improper. He likes tea time at one o'clock, two o'clock, and three o'clock. If his company is late he refuses to serve them dessert. Unfortunately most of his company sees a giant furry monster, and gives him no time of day. He is a lonely sasquatch who lives in solitude.

Naida Mills

Naida Mills is a complex girl, with a personality to die for. Sometimes even literally. She is a malevolent fresh water spirit, who originates in the Slavic Lands. She is 538 years old, and has been the source of a lot of mischief in her lifetime. She can be described as sick and twisted, and she has no problem ending the pitiful existences of others. Her age waxes and wanes with the cycle of the moon. She abducts humans to become her servants.

Tira Lockwood

Tira is a Jibakurei, which is a Japanese ghost which is bound to a certain place. Tira was originally bound to a well, but courtesy of a witch, she was bound instead to the pail that belonged to the well that her remains had been thrown into. In order to travel, she must carry the pail with her, she is vengeful, and seeking out the man who murdered her. A man known as Jack the Ripper.

Walter is a simple man, who comes from a Lutheran Catholic family. He was born in raised in Ireland, but has moved to the United States on business, with plans to return home. He works for a large corporation, and handles the accounts and taxes of the very rich. Underpaid, and overworked, he is still seeking something to believe in.
