On December 12, 2012, a thirteen car pile-up resulted in the death of Caleb Gordon, a werewolf of Kettle Creek Pack. When authorities arrived at the scene, there should have been a member of the supernatural community to take care of Caleb. There wasn't, and one week later, his autopsy results came back. Some were dismayed. Some were frightened. But no one could deny it now: the supernatural existed, and one-by-one, the supernatural races stepped out of hiding. Cults formed, humans who wanted - demanded - to become like them. Other humans feared them, hated them. There were kidnappings. There were murders. The world leaders stepped in to protect humans, enacting laws and regulations, and even years later, now in 2077, this speciesism still exists. The supernatural races are dealt with much harsher in courts and crimes, passed over for employment, not permitted to inter-marry, and generally avoided. This is the world that we live in now. While on the surface the world seems as calm as modern civilization gets, beneath the surface tensions brew.
