The Rules

Welcome to Sound of Silence, the Hellboy RPG. Rules. Read them thoroughly. for they are the foundation of this site. If you break these rules, the tooth fairies shall get testy, and we will have no compulsion to hold them back when they do. So please, for the cleanliness of our floors and the sanity of our cleaning staff, please follow the rules. This includes honoring the Proboards Terms of Service. Any abuse or breaking of these rules will result in a formal warning, or the individual's banning.

{ I. JOINING }
01. We would like you to register to this site with your characters name.
02. Keep your NAME IN LOWERCASE until your application is approved.
03. Once approved an ADMIN will change it to all UPPERCASE.
04. Register with the format of character's "firstlast". (ie: harrypotter)
05. DO NOT register with a username such as "silverfish86":
- - It's annoying and means you didn't read the rules before registering.
06. One character per account. Remember to sign out and login to your other character, and do not god mod yourself. Thanks.

{ II. APPLICATION }
01. After registering, you have one week to post a finished application.
02. Legendary characters, such as Dorian Gray, are reserved for events.
03. Please read the Factions & Powers page before applying.
04. Your face claim must be a human celebrity, no art or no-names.
05. After 7 days, if incomplete or left abandoned, your account will be purged.

{ III. CHARACTER EXPECTATIONS }
01. Your character is allowed to be powerful.
- - However, it must have as many weaknesses as it has strengths.
02. Since Hellboy is not XMEN we require you to stick to the powers grid. See Factions & Powers for more information. This is to keep true to the Hellboy World.
03. We permit you to create your own mythical race, but do look through the other races first please.
- - Use common sense when picking your skills, we don't allow reanimation.
04. No Original Character is permitted to clone a Canon.
05. Humans are not permitted supernatural powers any longer.
- - If you wish to have a power, choose a different species, please.
06. You can have as many characters as you like, but do not canon hoard. Share the wealth, and stay active on all of your accounts.
07. You must have 15 in character posts before applying for a second character.
08. Original Characters may not be related to Canon Characters.

{ IV. MATURE CONTENT }
01. One rule. Keep it PG-13, darlings. Proboards does not support sex scenes.
... And frankly I really don't want to see it, so don't do it here.

{ V. C-BOX RULES}
01.Member names = LOWERCASE.
02. Staff names = UPPERCASE.
03. USE your ICON! (No Animation!)
04. No drama.
05. No advertising.
06. No inappropriate content.
07. Please, do not spam.
08. Do not prompt staff to check your application.

{ VI. BEHAVIOR}
01. Always treat other members with respect, that goes without saying.
02. If you have a problem with a member, use the bug system:
- - a. Ignore them.
- - b. If problem persists take it to PM
- - c. If problem still persists tell an administrator.
03. If we get a report that you're being rude, you will be warned.
04. If we get a second report, you will be banned.

{ VIII. TOPIC STARTING }
We have a thread calendar {yay!} This is to keep track of when each thread occurs, so please remember to date & tag your posts if you are a topic starter. Also log your post in the Extra's section under Thread Calendar to help us track them for you. Think of this as a global thread & events tracker.

{ VIII. FINAL NOTES }
01. Please don't register and never come back again, its annoying, so please tell us if you are leaving, even if you just arrived.
02. Remember to post absences if you'll be away, so that way we know you didn't abandon us.
04. We have a "You get what you give" policy here at SOUND OF SILENCE, so do try to match the length of the person you're posting with. It's courtesy.
03. Remember to HAVE FUN, that is the most important rule in all of this.
