»»APPEARANCE: [/b]
Aislin is fairly average if one takes into consideration that there is elven blood coursing through her veins; she is about average height and weight for her age among her human peers. First glances are deceiving with her; she often keeps her mid-back length hair down so that it hides her slightly pointed ears. When she must pull it out of her face, she prefers floral patterned head-bands.
While she attended high school, she wore boot cut jeans and dark colored layered shirts; she often felt she couldn't wear light colors due to the natural tan of her skin. She figured it just wouldn't look right. When she works at her part time job, as a secretary, she finds herself still wearing clothes that are dark, but far more formal. She can be typically found working in black slacks that rest across faux-leather flats. Her tops are still layered; now they are matching black jackets over navy or crimson blouses.
As I said, looks are deceiving; if no one takes more than a passing glance at her, they won't notice the things that show her elven heritage. The biggest thing being her ears. While she does her best to hide them, she has a habit of brushing her hair behind her ears revealing the tips.
»»PERSONALITY: [/b]
Aislin is curious by nature; this is especially true of world mythology and cultures. She finds it fascinating to see where the truth ends and story begins; part of this is due to knowing about her own heritage. She knows that the stories are the closest she will ever get to meeting her mother, which both angers and saddens her, because part of her still wants to meet her mother just once. Her curiosity can get her into trouble, something that happened frequently as a child.
When she is researching something, she is very serious. This can be troublesome, because she could very easily lock herself up with the books until she has found the answer that she is looking for, and find it she will. She doesn't like not being able to find what she is looking for. That is often why when she has the extra money, she will hunt down old and original editions of books.
She tries to believe that everyone has the capacity for good even though she knows that there are some people out there that do bad things for no reason. Despite this outlook, she has developed a very varied sense of humor from sarcastic to bawdy. Most of it develop while in school, but her father help her iron out her sarcasm.

»» HISTORY:[/b]
Aislin was born to a wandering elf of Ireland who wanted nothing to do with her halfbreed daughter. Upon finding out that he was going to be a father, Jonathan begged the elf to let him take care of the little girl; once she was born, her mother dumped her on her father who was, at the time, an accountant. Realizing that he would need to spend more time at home to take care of her, he quit his job and found one that he could come in a few days a week and work from home the rest of the time. Her father, spent many of her younger years confused at what he was suppose to do to care for a child with such obviously different parentage.
By time she was seven, she began to realize that she wasn't like the other children. Obviously, her physical characteristics made her different, but she also found that she notice what the plant would want. It was at that time her father explained, to the best of his ability, who and what she was. This is where her myths and legends obsession began; she wanted to know why her mother left her. Part of her hoped that it wasn't just that her mother didn't want her.
When she graduated high school she decided she wanted to actually do something with the information she had stored in her brain. So with a little pushing from her teachers, she enter to a four year college to get her Bachelor's in Literature and Mythology. She often has to put up with immature jokes and comments about her ears, and she finds it to be a great distraction while at school. Part of her is often afraid that the other students will finally put two and two together and figure out that she isn't completely human. While she isn't ashamed of what she is, she knows that people knowing will only make life more difficult than it already is.
She plans to someday get her Master's degree.

Aislin sighed as she closed one of the dusty tomes only to replace it with another; apparently there was something running down the city streets, and she had to try finding out what they were up against before they went out to kill or subdue it. She couldn't help but chuckle at that. She hadn't been part of the B.P.R.D. long, yet she had learned early on that for the agents, subdue meant break its legs.
The information that she had been given to work with was minimal. They knew that whatever it was liked the dark and could travel by shadows. At the moment that just wasn't enough to narrow it down, but she could put a list together, and when the team got their first sight of it, she would be able to figure it out.
That's not good enough, she thought with a sigh. She knew she could narrow it down to at least a few regions of the world. The most likely were: Finland, Germany, Norway, and Iceland. They were the lands that produced the most nocturnal supernatural beings as far as she could tell. Now all she had to do was figure out what creature it was.
She pulled another book off the pile she had stacked off to her right when she had begun her research. This one was older than the others if the worn binding was any indication; as she opened it, she noted that the page corners were worn and soft from frequent turnings. The further she got into the book, the more she was beginning to think she needed to be looking at more Germanic folk lore.
Turning another page, she blinked several times; on the page was a drawing of a particularly nasty looking creature, but it was its description that had made her pause. If she was right, and until she knew more about the thing she was just making educated guesses, she had just found what they were up against. Reading further, she ran her hand through her hair. If that was what the agents were up against, they were in for a rocky fight.
