Princess Nuala appears elegant and graceful, perhaps due to her upbringing. She is very similar to her brother, decorated with scars that are identical to her brothers. It is not a visible trait, the bond that they have with one another, but her body is always subject to change as she always takes the same wounds as Nuada. She has long blonde hair, and a long royal scar traces over her smooth cheeks. She dresses the part, though never parts with the crown piece she had been entrusted with. She carries herself high with dignity, and pride. She appears very shy, and keeps to herself unless there is business she must attend to.
»»PERSONALITY:
While her twin brother Nuada is both bold and strong, Nuala is mostly reserved. She often keeps her opinions to herself, though she knows that Nuada respects them. Due to her connection with her brother she understands his viewpoints of the world, but does not always agree with them, though their bond has long taught her to agree to disagree. She loves the bond and it is sacred to her, she is grateful for the closeness she shares with her brother emotionally and physically through their link. She does not quite understand what it is like to be alone, as even in exile her brother was there with her: Her father trying to shield her heart from his.
She enjoys being in the company of Agent Hellboy and of course Abraham Sapien. She admires the protectiveness and friendship that seems to be founded within the agents of the B.P.R.D. and feels she can relate to them, even as an outsider. She grew close to Abraham Sapien rather quickly due to their shared telepathic ability, and has a special friendship with him, and a love that does not compare to the love she holds for her brother.
She enjoys poetry, especially Tennyson. She has always enjoyed the finer things in life, and imaginary sentiments and fairytales always held her interest. So did the idea of love, though her brother would argue it was just words that meant nothing.
She delights in intelligent conversations and the ability to be able to make her own choices. She supports her brothers freedom, but does not agree with the war he wishes to create. Even though she loves the underworld, she still loves all green and living places in the world, and that includes the humans, even if she fails to agree with them all of the time.
Nuala dislikes the Golden Army. She fears that should it awaken, it will destroy the world, and all of the good that remains in it. She feels it is evil and overpowered, leaving those it would turn its sword upon no mercy and no remorse. She does not agree with violence where it is unnecessary. To her, seeing her brother abuse the fading gifts of their kind is heartbreaking. She would have him stop, fearing the loss of their world.
She fears enclosed surroundings, and considers herself mildly claustrophobic. Though there is one thing she fears more than closed areas and that is losing base with her own emotions. She knows her brother is battle hardened, and thinks in the verse of logic, and she is quite the opposite. Thinking with her heart instead of her head.
In general, Nuala is a contrast providing balance to her brother through her personality. While he is cold, and strong: She is better versed in the art of diplomacy and peace. She has often served as an ambassador for her kind. She comes off as level headed and distant. Many of the magical beings admire her because she has managed to keep the peace, even among the humans who were aware of their existence.
Outside of her duties as a princess, Nuala is a kind woman. She is not afraid to smile, and is best described as warm and full of life. Even though she is opposite of her twin brother, she always enjoys his company. He was her closest companion from birth, even amongst their differences. His temper may create fear, but there is a love and respect for her brother that goes deeper than her soul. She keeps her temper hidden.
THE BACKGROUND
"I'm not a baby, I'm a tumor." -Tumor.
»»Balor: Nuala was born to King Balor, a legendary king of Elfland. Though he is easily identified by his one arm, he is the former ruler of all of the magical races. He once commanded a golden army, though with a heart full of sorrow, and regret, Balor called a truce with the humans. The humans would keep to the cities, and the magical creatures to the forest. He lost the war to mans conquest, and his son to anger.
»»Danu: Nuala's mother was Danu, who is now known as the mythic mother goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Aside from that, not much is known.
»»Nuada: Nuala's twin brother, with whom she shares a bond. If one should bleed, so will the other. There is a telepathic connection, and they can each others feelings, even if they do not agree with them. She loves her brother dearly, but cannot carry the hate he does for the human race. She disagrees with his conquest, but respects his opinions.
»»IDOLS: Balor, her father, who died to uphold the treaty between the two worlds.
»»HISTORY:
In brief: Nuala was trained in the art of finer things, sch as diplomacy and negotiations from birth. Where as her brother is battle hardened and trained in the ways of the warrior, Nuala was brought up to keep the peace. It too was a custom of the old worlds royalty. She was a princess and once lived in a palace. She was present at the time of the Golden Army's creation but seemed to be neither for nor against it. She felt at a loss when her brother Nuada had left the court of Bethmoora on a self-imposed exile, promising to return when his people needed him most. She often wondered what had become of him, and where his adventures had taken him. She knew best when he was in trouble because of the shared sensory and bind that they had. She is saddened that her father shielded her heart from Nuada's, but knew it was probably for the best. She respects her brother, and loves him above all else, but cannot always agree with his decisions. She too seems unused to the idea of forest-life, but has accepted that the times are changing.
She once lived with her family under the father tree, known as "Aiglin", and grew up with a wide variety of mythical creatures. Here, under the father tree, the mythical creatures: elves, fairies, beasts, ogres, etc.. Had created a purpose for themselves, and continued to live their lives with dignified structure and patterns. Nuala shared in her brothers grief when their mother went missing early on in their life, and they were left with only their father there to support them and raise them. Nuala was a scholar and had learned to read and write, and started with negotiations at a young age. In her childhood, Nuada had been her best friend and closest ally. They spent long hours studying together, talking over meals, playing in the fields, or walking through the forest. She always admired her brother, and again holds him above all others. She admires his strength, and courage to act upon what he feels is right, she however wishes for peace, while he wishes for war.
Nuala moved with King Balor, her father, when their home changed. The forests faded, and thereby the forest life faded as well. They now live under the Brooklyn Bridge in an establishment in the Troll Market. There are few of them left, and Nuala fears it is the end of the world she grew to know and love. She has accepted the fading of their kind, though it saddens her. She feels her brother is closer and wonders what the future is to unfold.

Covell sighed as the reality smacked him in the face. The secret of magic may soon be broken. He shook his head again, nervously combing his fingers through the tangled mess that sat upon his head, certain that he hadn't been particularly good at hiding his random line of thought. “Ah the Muggle Repelling Charm...” He grinned to hear that he got it right, though he hadn't doubted Gale's capabilities in the subject. “So you sealed off your room from your family? That's quite advanced charm work.” Covell laughed with him, gleefully, eyes lighting up at the images that came to mind. Gale could paint quite a picture, he could almost see Gale's aunt demanding him to counter the charm. “I'm glad to hear that your enchantment suceeded. The Muggle-Repelling Charm is actually on the criteria this year, are you aware?” He grinned, though he had become slightly distracted by the missing prefects badge on the students uniform. He remained silent, though allowed his eyes to linger on the spot where his badge should be. Had he rejected the position? That seemed rather unlikely, but he could not recall Gale being untidy or forgetful. Perhaps he didn't know the student as well as he thought. Fortunately, Mr. Moxy seemed to be one of the few students in Gryffindor who knew him well enough to know of his social awkwardness and not call attention to it. He had been concerned about inquiring about his first visit to Diagon Alley, and had been relieved when Gale took seemingly no annoyance at the 'nosing' into students lives that Covell was sometimes guilty of.
He took another bite from the colorful, now glowing, bowl and allowed his eyes to move off of the missing badge. He shifted slightly to get more comfortable, and crossed his legs, allowing a hand to rest in his lap. He listened as Gale recounted his memories of his first visit to the magical lane known as Diagon Alley. The boy had mentioned that he had gotten lost, but that didn't seem too far fetched to Ridley. The place was confusing in a crowd during good weather, so he could only imagine how strange an experience it must have been for Gale to come with his Uncle and cousin. He chuckled aloud, and covered his mouth to try to hide it as he mentioned his cousin had ditched him for a snogging. “You're cousin sounds like quite the charmer.” Covell teased. “I didn't know you actually hated each other, I thought that perhaps it was mutual annoyance or dislike from what I saw and heard.” Covell admitted. “Family...” Covell whispered, in a bit of a delayed response due to Gale admitting Kili was like his family. He shoved back playfully, eyes lit with amusement, as it was second nature for him. If there was one word that would describe the personal Ridley, it would not be 'serious'. He could not help thinking of his conversation with Addedna earlier. Her words filled his memory though he was hoping his sobered expression had gone unnoticed. When are you going to find yourself a wife and have some children of your own?” Without thinking, he had asked aloud “How old is too old to consider having a family?” To a staff member it would be obvious that he had been speaking to Professor Flysly, but he wasn't sure that Gale would know the Professor well enough to know where the idea had sprung from.
