Date: November 4th 2008 Tag(s): Liz/Mandy, Lorena/Laura, Anyone else
"If I've told you oncet, I've told you twicet Lorena, my room is not a sun room. I've got one plant in there, one! Thats all that should be in there."
Rose's voice could be heard up and down the hallway, accompanied by the soft squeek of wet rubber on linoleum. Her words were dirrected at her room mate, Lorena Zaccardo, team mate and friend, who had a rather quirky habbit of naming her plants. Rose had one plant in her bedroom that had been named "Robert" by Lorena. What type it was, she couldn't tell you, it was a purple flower she had bought because it was pretty.
Still, anyone who looked at the pair of women would have seen a smile on Rose's face as she ranted cheerfully if teasingly about some random placement. Sure, she knew that her room got the most sunlight, being on the northern side of their shared appartment. Still, with the winter months being overcast more often than not, the argument was a moot point, the plants needed all the light they could get, muted or no.
Even as she slung her coat over her arm as they walked down the hallway, boots squeeking on the tile floor, she chuckled and shook her head as they passed one of the fern-like plants in the hallway.

. "But Robert can't be alone!" Lorena exclaimed passing the front desk of the BPRD. While some agents resided within the BPRD, Rose and Lorena lived approximately 15 minutes off base in a small apartment complex, their address being strangely decorated by the huge differences in personal taste. "Plants need friends too... See, my mom always told me that they grow better when they have friends because they give off ... Oh what do you care?" Lorena teased, slinging her jacket over her shoulder, sliding her card through the scanner at the check-in desk. Sighing she shook her head. "It may not be a greenhouse, or a sun room, or whatever else you fancy calling it, but Robert still needs water regularly. He's an orchid, and if you over water him he'll die. You have to let the water drip off your fingers from the sink into the soil. Orchids are a rather delicate species of flower, see..."
Rose was a sweetheart, but a little inexperienced in the art of 'green thumb'. While Lorena on the other hand was a forensic scientist, she also had a specialty in forensic botany. "You should take a leaf out of Abe's book and research various things. It might be good for you." Lorena teased as they passed Emily and Jacob (the hallway plants). "See even Emily has friends." Lorena halted at the elevator and pressed the down button. Rose probably went up, but the forensics lab was in the lower levels. She couldn't keep her mind off of the other agents, even though her mouth was currently engaged with Rose. There was always a chance she'd see Desmond or Abe again today, though she never actually had spoken to Desmond she still fancied the stories she had heard.
"Do you have a field assignment today, Rose? Or can you meet me at lunch?" Sure they had checked in, but the real work hadn't started with. They had a briefing they had to attend in regards to most of the BPRD missions of the day. Slightly frightened of Agent Hellboy, Lorena was not looking forward to the briefing. "I'll be darned." She muttered pressing the up button instead. "I forgot about the meeting... I should have drank more tea." She said with a wink. ".. Do you think the senior agents and task managers will be at this one?"

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: ROSE & LORENA OUTFIT: HERE ONE LAST THING: HOPE IT'S ALL RIGHT I'M KINDA BLEGH. Liz's morning had been going less than well. She had not been sleeping well the last week or so to the point that she had spent the last couple of nights in her own room rather than crashing in Red's room -- which had turned out to be a good thing, given that this morning she had woken up at a little past three in the morning to the shrieking sound of the fire alarms that decorated her quarters like some people hung paintings or photographs. She couldn't remember the details of the dream, or nightmare she could only assume, that had plagued her during the early morning hours. She had been too distracted with the abrupt shower that the fire sprinklers had given her as the fire extinguisher system attempted to combat the flames that had roiled to life around her while she had slept.
Fortunately, she kept little in her room that was itself flammable; her clothes and personal items were stored in fire proof chests or closets -- the B.P.R.D. had had to adapt in the last years with Liz's stay becoming a more permanent occasion, but she knew she would hear grumbling for the expense reports of the bedding and such that had gone up in flames. Literally. After the fire had died down, and she'd dealt with cleaning up the mess that was left behind, she had known she was past any chance of going back to sleep. She had gone to Red's, hoping to have caught him in one of his nocturnal cycles, but he had been fast asleep and she hadn't had the heart to wake him. Even when they were fighting, and when she was furious with him... there was such an innocence about him when he was sleeping or when he thought no one was looking that made her not willing to disturb him.
She had wandered into the library, instead, curling up with a book in front of Abe's suspension tank while he slept with the sound of Vivaldi to keep her company instead. At an almost human hour, she had tried breakfast in the mess hall, but hadn't been able to stomach more than a glass of hot coffee, and a couple pieces of toast before she'd refilled her travel coffee cup and made her way towards the elevators. There was a meeting scheduled for this morning, and regardless of how much sleep she didn't get, she had to attend. Riding the elevator up, the doors dinged, and she looked up absent mindedly to check the floor level, realizing that she still had a few floors to go. It seemed she was being joined, however, and she felt a reflexive smile touch her lips as the opening doors revealed one of the newer agents beside the more familiar form of Rose. "Morning, Rose," Liz offered, taking a step to the side of the elevator to make room for the newcomers. "Agent Zaccardo." She added. She knew most of the agents here at least by name and what they were assigned to the B.P.R.D. for; it was another hobby of hers she'd picked up over the years.
Liz had always been a people watcher, and a collector of random facts and faces, as the rooms, hallways and corkboards filled with polaroids around the Bureau would attest to. "You girls are on the roster for today, aren't you?" She asked, taking a sip of her still steaming coffee. There was no telling what assignments would be handed out, or even what pairings would be dealt out. She usually was more read up on what problems were plaguing the Bureau than she was at the moment but she'd been easily distracted the last few weeks.

Today had not been so different from Abe's regular routine. It had started in his tank, located in the library, where he had been listening to his daily fill of Mozart. After all, it was a common conception that Mozart's music raised the intellect of the listener. While Abe was considered brilliant, there was always room to learn more. His insatiable lust for knowledge had led him into running a bit late, as his morning page turner had been a few paces behind schedule. He had made a brisk walk past the check-in counter and had nearly caught up with two very familiar junior agents: Rose Neghana, and Lorena Zaccardo. One being a rather lively field agent, and the other a usually quiet forensics scientist, who had recently transferred from NJ:CSI to the Bureau.
The girls were carrying on a casual conversation as they were, undoubtedly, heading in the direction of the conference hall. It was a skills assessment day, which also meant the senior agents available were requested to attend the session to answer any questions and give practiced advice. Manning had spent the last couple of weeks breathing down Abe's throat about how he should be present, due to being a figurehead of the Bureau and one of the more praised agents. He had made an assumption that both Red and Liz had been asked to attend.
His attention was called forth to the two agents once again as the scientist was rambling on about botany, or perhaps plants. This Robert seemed to be a flower of some sort, and Abe found it very interesting that the scientist named the plants in the Bureau. His stride slowed so he could listen in for a little while longer as he heard his name brought up in passing, when the elevator door opened and Liz stepped out to present everyone with a greeting.
"Good morning, Liz." He stated from behind the girls. "Hello Rose. Lorena." He nodded at the circle before turning to face Liz. "Did Red get hung up on his television programs? I do hope he has remembered about todays meeting... Manning will be impossible if..." He cut himself short realizing the other agents were still there. "You two haven't forgotten the assembly also have you?" He wondered intuitively. "Shall we head there together?"

Post by TINSEL VALLOS on May 27, 2011 22:35:10 GMT 1
Tinsel felt a soft plop on her stomach as her kitten Christmas very kindly told her it was time to wake up. She awoke with a start and soon saw two yellow eyes staring at her before a very fluffy, tiny face, rubbed itself on her jawline. Tinsel giggled and quickly patted her before shooing her off of her so she could get ready. It was only her second day at the Bureau and they already had a conference, but she guessed things moved quickly here.
After getting up and getting dressed, TJ left her poor little kitten to go grab something to eat. Her breakfast consisted of a banana and a cup of tea because she didn't feel like having anything strong like coffee. She ate quickly and soon made her way out of the Mess Hall and to the elevators. Pressing the up button, she looked up at the lights of the floors and each one she was passing. TJ couldn't help but be a little nervous, she hadn't really met any of the agents, except Lorena. She hadn't even met Abe or Hellboy, but she knew she would have to eventually. Just thinking about meeting others made her quizzy.
Her lips began to feel a little different as she felt them get a little warm, she pressed her lips together to find that they were beginning to get sticky. "Oh no" she mumbled to herself in the elevator as she quickly took a tissue out of her jeans pocket and dabbed her lips, trying to get the poison off. The dabbing wasn't working as she soon had to wipe her lips and finally it began to come off. "Ok ok just breath" she told herself as she began to take big breaths and started to relax. The elevator dinged and she soon stepped out.
Tinsel stuffed the tissue back in her pocket and turned on her heel to see a group of agents, noticing Lorena right off. She thought about it for a moment as she walked and soon decided to quicken the pace. "Hey Lorena !"
she called out to the fellow agent as she began to catch up with the group. "Oh excuse me" she spoke to the other agents. Her hand reached up as she brushed some of her dark chocolate side bangs out of her face. Her hair was in an up-do, messy type bun, and she wore a regular black t-shirt with regular jeans and black and white Converse Chucks. "I'm um well I'm Tinsel Vallos, I'm new, but you can call me TJ" she spoke with a smile at the end. "I'm guessing you all are going to the meeting?" she asked gently, just in case she was wrong. Word Count: didn't count Music: Temptation By Cradle of Filth Notes: I hope its long enough, TJ needed to meet some fellow agents ^^ [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Was starting to lose hope and that secret mission was costing time and energy and much more than necessary , up to be close to forget meetings or his position as leader of a special task force.
Coming out of his office quickly wore on his coat and walked toward the already crowded corridors by staff and authorized personnel. That morning, however, everything seemed more chaotic than usual.
Rubbing his strong neck tried to wake up, even the two cups of coffee had been fulfilled the attempt. The handsome hard face showed anyway no signs of tiredness but the strong jaw was slightly outlined by a blond beard and but although that kept on show impeccable appearance in the usual suit and tie . Slipped the hands in the jeans pockets looking for cigarettes but casually lifting the gaze of his blue eyes on a group of people an attractively kind smile appeared on the hard bony face when met some of his colleagues.
Desmond kept the hands in the pockets watching the talking group with a friendly smile, "I see that today no one is eager to start the day" the deep but warm voice let out a soft laugh. Greeted Abe with a friendly nod and made a polite greeting with an equally nod "Good morning, folks. Maybe it's because I still have not drink my coffee but I missed something here? Everybody is here or we have still to wait for someone else ?" asked smiling and winked playfully. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TEMPLATE BY: DES .

Yawning slightly in the elevator, only for the shear lack of cafine and the early morning continued her argument with Lorena about the plants. Sure, it was true they had their eccentricities, but they were at least consistant with them.
"You girls are on the roster for today, aren't you?"
"Yes we are, we're headed for the meeting now." At this, Rose smiled at Liz, slightly dreading the report she'd have to make on her engine failure and the subsiquent damage to the machine shop.
"Hello Rose. Lorena. Did Red get hung up on his television programs? I do hope he has remembered about todays meeting... Manning will be impossible if... You two haven't forgotten the assembly also have you? Shall we head there together?"
At the appearance of Abe, Rose smiled and bowed her her head slightly, acknowleging his presence and seniority before responding.
"No, and yeah. Sure."
With basic sunderies attended to, the elevator dinged open and more or less as a group they filed out, headed towards the offices. Not even a minute off of the elevator, and Rose could hear a set of footsteps approaching from behind, and with a raised eyebrow at the called name, stopped to listen. When the girl introduced herself as Tinsel Vallos, AKA TJ, Rose simply smiled and nodded.
"Hello TJ, welcome welcome. Glad to see someone who is actually perky this time of morning."
The laugh was in her voice and her tired eyes, for she wanted to make the newcomer feel welcome, and to show that she was joking around. With a nod from her head, she caught up to the rest and entered the meeting room where several of the Powers That Be in charge were already seated. Warren looked just about as tired as she felt, though for the most part it was all fine and dandy.
"Good morning, folks. Maybe it's because I still have not drink my coffee but I missed something here? Everybody is here or we have still to wait for someone else ?" Warren spoke, and with a smile in return, shook her head in responce.
"No, I think this is all of us." After speaking, Rose took her seat in preperation to begin the meeting. One of the senior execs of the BPRD stood and began speaking.
"First order of business, if you don't mind that we get it out of the way, Agent Negahna, your report on your prototype engine if you please."
With that, Rose herself stood up from her chair, swallowing down a small bit of bile.
"Yes sir. The engine is functional to a degree, optimal performance is not yet met, though an overload of the prototypes consistantly occurs. Preliminary findings on the data insist more constant drain is nessesary for stabalization, also recomend a stripped Europium element for the movement pads. Damage to the lab from the latest detination is... minimal. Could have been alot worse."
Frankly, that was particularly refreshing to Rose as she ended her brief report and sat down, slightly nursing the very nearly healed wound on her calf. With a nod, the Exec spoke once more, asking each of the people here about their particular areas of expertise, basically just asking for a status update on their particular projects.
